Placing Signature Fields (text tags) with Dynamic PDFs
Text Tags are similar to Logiform's wildcards, you place them in your PDF where you want signatures, initials, and other data to be captured.
Text Tag Guide
Check out the Text Tag guide from HelloSign for lots of tips and tricks for using text tags. Note Logiforms does not support settings default values or any usage of the "custom_fields" option.
Text Tag Overview
Text tags are defined for each expected signer and optionally the sender. If you have 3 signers specified in the recipient list, you would typically add 3 signature text tags to your PDF as in this example:
[sig|req|signer1]
[sig|req|signer2]
[sig|req|signer3]
This would add 3 signature fields, shown to each of the signers as their turn to sign was presented to them. You can collect initials on each page in a similar fashion:
[initial|req|signer1]
[initial|req|signer2]
[initial|req|signer3]
Sizing and Substitution
By default, the new field has the same width and height as the original tag text. The height is always fixed to the text height that HelloSign offers the signer, but you can change the width of the tag. To make the tag wider, use spaces:
[sig|req|signer4 ]
Remember
The spacing must only be added at the end of the text tag not at the beginning - as shown above..The following text tags are commonly used:
TEXT TAG VALUE | FIELD TYPE | |
---|---|---|
text | Text field | |
check |
|
|
date | Date field | |
initial | Signer's initials field | |
sig | Signer's signature field |
Unsupported Text Tags
text-merge and checkbox-merge are not supported.A single document cannot include both PDF Form fields and fields defined using Text Tags. If you are using a PDF form, see "Placing Signature Fields (text tags) with PDF Forms"
