Collecting Signatures via Embedded/Widget Mode
Use this option to immediately display a PDF for signing after a web form is submitted. In order to use the EchoSign integrations, you must have first purchased a Sender License.
Once you have a sender license, view the video below for step by step instructions on how to set up the Electronic Signature Profile:
You can only have one agreement per record/form submission. It is possible to create multiple Electronic Signature Profiles and use rules to determine which of the profiles are sent. Also, you can rules via the PDF Generation options to conditionally generate the PDF you need to get signed and/or use the PDF Merge Wizard to merge multiple documents together.
Once a PDF has been sent for signature, the regenerate on update option (from the PDF Template Settings) will not longer be honoured and the PDF can not be changed.
Settings & Options
See the Electronic Signature Profile Settings & Options topic for more detailed information on the various settings and options available when configuring this profile.
Signer Identity Assurance
Unlike the Signature via Email method, where the request to sign is delivered via email, validating that the user has access to that email account, there is no such validation of the signers identity when using the embedded widget. You may want to consider using the Web Identity Authentication, or KBA Authentication options in conjunction with this mode of integration in order to provide a higher level of assurance of the signers identity.
Limitation's
This method of integration with Adobe EchoSign has the following limitations:
- Maximum of 1 Signer
- Sender can only sign last
- No option to create an approval process
- No automated follow up's for unsigned documents.
Automating a Reminder to sign when the widget is not Signed
Unlike the Signature via Email method, there are no automated reminders for a user to sign if they do not complete the PDF document on the first pass. We have provided a way to automatically send a reminder to sign through the use of a trigger. For details on how this can be set up, please see Using_a_Trigger_to_get_an_Unsigned_Widget_Signed.
For Example, even if you placed the signature text tag {{_es_:signer1:signature}} on the last page of the PDF, if the email text tag {{_es_:signer:email}} was not included, a second signature field would be added to the last page of the agreement.
