Theme & Style - Overview
After you have created a form that works as expected, you probably want to make it match other documents that you use to communicate with customers.
You probably want to add your logo to the header or footer and change the font. You may want to change the size and color of fonts, or the color of the background.
Many aspects of the look and feel of your form are managed by the Theme and Style editor. You can create your own theme, or choose from an extensive library that you apply to your form for an instant makeover.
Using the Theme & Style Editor
To open the Theme and Style editor, click Theme & Style in the upper right corner of the Form Designer menu. The Theme Settings window appears.
The Master Themes menu shows all master themes available to you. The Settings menu lets you choose these design elements to modify: Page, Panels, Fields, Tooltips, and Buttons. These are also called Subthemes. When you select one of them, a panel of properties displays that you can modify. Click + to expand and display the properties.
The Settings menu lists the options that correspond to the Sub Theme Type selected. For example, when you select Buttons from the Settings menu, the Button SubThemes lists prebuilt themes that you can apply to your buttons.
A Preset is a sub theme setting configuration. After you make a selection from the SubTheme menu, the Preset menu changes accordingly.
Applying a Change
You can quickly change the look of your form by applying a new master theme.
- In the Master Themes menu, choose Show All Master Themes.
- Scroll through the list.
- Click one image and your form will be changed to look like that.
- Click Save in the Form Designer menu to save this change, or choose another theme. You can also modify the sub themes or design elements of this look and feel.
Saving Presets
You can create your own presets to use later, either in this form or any other form in your account. After modifying the theme settings, you can save the settings as a new preset. Any presets that you do save can only be used with the same sub theme.
-
In the Theme Settings editor, click the small disk icon in the toolbar.
-
Click the menu item Save Current Master Preset.
-
Enter a name for the Preset. To update an existing preset, simply enter the name of the existing preset.
-
Click Save to exit and commit the changes.
-
You may now find the present in the Presets > Your Custom Presets menu.
Note: If the Save Current Master Preset option is unavailable, this indicates that you have not made any saveable changes to the settings.
