Sub User Groups
Sub User Groups
Groups define permissions that can be inherited by the users that belong to the group. When creating groups, you can create the default permissions to be applied to any users within that group that have opted to inherit permissions.
Group Management can be found within the Sub User Account Management Window, then click Groups in the top tool bar.
Group Management
From the Groups window, you can add, edit and delete groups. Select a group and use the buttons in the top tool bar.
Understanding Data Only and Form Creator Permissions
Sub Users can be either Data Only, gaining access to a database view only, or Form Creator, gaining access to the full suite of tools. When defining a group, you'll be asked to define the default permissions for both Data Only and Form Creator sub users that are members of the group. The sub user will inherit the permissions based on the sub user type defined.
Data Only Users Default Permissions
The permissions defined on this screen will be applied to any users that belong to this group that have "inherit" permissions set to true. For a complete outline of the various permissions that can be applied, see Data Only Sub User Permissions.
Form Creator Users Default Permissions
The permissions defined on this screen will be applied to any users that belong to this group that have "inherit" permissions set to true. For a complete outline of the various permissions that can be applied, see Form Creator Permissions
Assigning Users to a Group
You can assign a user to a group, by editing the user and selecting the group that they should belong to on the first screen of the users settings. If you check the Inherit checkbox, the user will inherit the permissions from the group they are assigned to. Uncheck the Inherit checkbox if you would like to define unique permissions for the user.
