Daily FTP Transfer

Using the Daily FTP Transfer tool, you can configure a daily transfer of submission data for a specific form. This data will be sent in the common CSV format to a server of your choosing. If this server supports SSH (secure FTP), then you can employ the secure transfer option.

It's easy to set it up by following these steps:

1. In the Start Menu choose Database Tools > Daily FTP Transfer.

2. In the Form Selection window, expand the project and choose the form containing that data that you want to transfer. Then click OK to launch the Daily FTP Transfer wizard.

3. When wizard appears, click the Next button.

FTP Account

Follow these steps to configure the FTP account settings:

1. In the FTP Account Settings panel, begin by enter the FTP Address of the website to which you will transfer your data file. The address must be of the form ftp.yourwebsite.com .

2. In the Home Directory box, enter the name of the folder into which your data file will go.

3. The Port setting is 21 by default, which is typical for non-secure FTP. If your server is running SSH, then change this setting to 22 (for secure FTP).

4. Enter the FTP Account Username and the FTP Account password for your FTP server.

5. To test the connection, click the Run Test button at the bottom of the panel. You will receive a "Login Successful" message if the test succeeds, and an error message otherwise.

6. Click Next to continue on to Transfer Details, which is the last step of the wizard.

Transfer Details

Follow these steps to configure the transfer settings:

1. Specify a Destination Filename, and remember that the file will be in CSV format.

2. Optionally, check the Reset Record Count checkbox if you want to transfer all of the records on the next transmission. This checkbox will reset the last row transferred count and send all records on the next transfer attempt, after witch it will revert to transferring only new rows.

3. From the drop-down list, choose a Transfer Time for the transmission to occur.

4. Finally, by holding down the CTRL key and clicking with the mouse, choose which Fields you want include in the transfer operation.

5. Click Finish to save the FTP transfer profile.
