Respondent Update Mode

A Respondent Update profile is a special AutoResponder profile. You use this profile type for a user who needs to return to their form and complete it at a later time. After receiving an email message such as "Thank you for updating your profile", the user would click a link to return to the form, use their log in and password, and finish editing their previous submission. We call it a Respondent Update because the form respondent is updating their previous submission.

For a user to return, log in, and edit their form, you must add a special field called a UserName/Password field to your form. After this field is added to your form, you can configure the Respondent Update Mode settings. When you generate the code to integrate your form into your website, choose Respondent Update Mode Login Page.

The Respondent Update Mode Profile settings are the same as a Standard AutoResponder. The only difference is that this profile is only used when a user is updating a previous submission. This profile type will never be used for a normal form submission.

If you need users to return to the form, the other way to do it -- without using a login and password -- is to generate an auto login URL, and include that in an Autoresponder, Notification, Trigger, or PDF generated within Logiforms.
