Style & Layout

You can customize every aspect of your form, so it fits perfect with your website's look and feel.  Let's explore how to change colors, images and other layout-related properties. 

Layout Properties

Layout properties refer to parameters such as caption width and alignment, field width, and spacing between fields.   

It is very important to understand that the Global Layout Settings apply to all the fields on your form. You should always set values for parameters such as caption width, field width, and spacing settings at the global level, so they apply to all the fields on your form. This make it easy to change the settings in one place for all fields. Then, if needed, you can override the global settings on a per-field basis, as needed. 

Global Layout Properties 

To access global layout properties:

1. Click the Forms Root Property Node (the name of the form at the top of the tree) in the Form Outline panel.
    
2. Click the 'expand' icon to expand the Form Layout & Alignment Properties section of the Form Properties panel.

The settings you make here apply to all fields on your form.

Individual Field Properties

To edit an individual field's properties:

1. Click the name of the desired field in the Form Outline panel.
    
2. Click the 'plus' icon to expand the Form Layout & Alignment Properties section of the Form Properties panel.

NOTE: Properties that are inherited from the Global Layout Properties are shown in gray; individual field settings are shown in black.

Theme & Style

Theme & Style properties refer to background colors, fonts and images. Theme & Style settings are managed within the Theme & Style editor.

Master Themes

When you first open the Theme & Style window, you'll see thumbnails of the Master Themes. Choosing one of the preset Master Themes will apply that theme to your form.

Sub Themes

Each Master Theme is a collection of sub themes with settings for the page, panels, buttons, fields and captions. You can edit each of those sub themes directly by making a selection from the Settings menu in the top right corner of the Theme & Style window.

Within each sub theme, you can apply various preset styles or edit the various properties directly.
